Session 1: Benefits of Tawḥīd

    • Allāh created us to establish Tawḥīd

    • Allāh created Jannah and Nār to recompense the people who lived upon Tawḥīd (with Jannah), and those who opposed Tawḥīd (with the Hellfire).

    • Allāh sent all the Messengers to call to Tawḥīd.

    • All acts of worship (ʿIbādāt) will not be accepted unless they were carried out upon the foundation of Tawḥīd.

Session 2: The Foundation of Tawḥīd

    • The foundation of Ēmān (True Faith)

    • Points on Ēmān in Allāh

    • The meaning of Tawḥīd linguistically and in the religion.

Session 3: The Categories of Tawḥīd (Summarised)

  • • The Types of Tawḥīd

    • From what is found in the Qurʾān and Sunnah we understand that Tawḥīd is of three types

Tawḥīd ar-Rubūbiyyah: Allāh alone is to be singled out in all of His actions

Tawḥīd al-Ulūhiyyah/ Tawḥīd al-ʿIbādah: Allāh alone is to be single in all out the actions of the servant. All your worship is for Allāh alone

Tawḥīd al-Asmā' wa as-Ṣiffāt: To single out Allāh in His Names and Attributes

Session 4: Tawḥīd ar-Rubūbiyyah

  • • Tawḥīd ar-Rubūbiyyah is referring to the Rabb, our Lord, the One who owns us!

    • Tawḥīd ar-Rubūbiyyah is to single out Allāh in all of His actions. The things which only Allāh can do

    • Imām Ibn ʿUthaimīn and other scholars defined Tawḥīd ar-Rubūbiyyah as; to single out Allāh – عزّ وجلّ – with creating [everyone and everything], ownership [of all that exists] and sustaining [all that exists]

    • Shaykh ʿAlī al-Ḥudhayfī al-ʿAdanī and other scholars mention, is to single out Allāh with His actions

    • Allāh's actions return back to three things: Khalq, Mulk & Tadbīr

    • Imām Ibn ʿUthaimīn mentioned that a person must believe there is no - true - Creator except Allāh – meaning He alone creates from nothing

    • Humans who create things, create from what Allāh has already created. For example using the wood Allāh created to create a door

Session 5: From The Affairs of Tawḥīd ar-Rubūbiyyah; al-Mulk & at-Tadbīr

  • • The meaning of al-Mulk: To believe none owns everything in the creation except Allāh without restriction

    • Humans own things, but their ownership is restricted

    • From your belief in the Mulk of Allāh is that He gave you all that you own.

    • The meaning of at-Tadbīr is that Allāh alone is the One who controls the affairs.

    • The humans and those whose affairs they arrange (such as those under their care) are all under the Allāh’s Tadbīr. Allāh alone controls and manages the affairs of all of His creation.

    • The scholars mention that generally everyone believes in Tawḥīd ar-Rubūbiyyah, that is why belief in Rubūbiyyah does not enter a person into al-Islām
