al-ʿAllāmah Muḥammad bin Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn - may Allāh have mercy on him - said:

“Strive, O brother, for the purification of your heart before the purification of your limbs. How many a person prays, fasts, gives charity, and perform Ḥajj, yet his heart is corrupted.”
