Beware of The Destructive Disease of Arrogance — Shaykh Rabī‘ al-Madkhalī

Our Shaykh, al-‘Allāmah Rabī‘ bin Hādī al-Madkhalī - may Allāh have mercy upon him - said:
“Arrogance is a deadly disease, a destructive disease, and refuge is sought with Allāh, an atom’s weight of it throws the person possessing it into the fire, a person shouldn’t be lax in the affair of arrogance, whether it is over the general people or over the scholars, in the field of seeking knowledge or other than it. This disease is dangerous: ((He will not enter jannah the one that has in his heart an atom’s weight of arrogance¹.)) ¹ An atom’s weight of arrogance!
It is possible there exits in a person arrogance the magnitude of a mountain and refuge is sought with Allāh, the atom’s weight of this arrogance throws him into the deep pit of hell and prevents him from Jannah so it is upon the Muslim to be far from this ruinous and destructive trait.”
